Councillor Kerry White

Kerry WhiteCr Kerry White, a graduate of the Australian National University, is a self-employed Certified Practicing Accountant, a Registered Tax Agent and Justice of the Peace.

He was elected to Council in 1993 and has successfully contested re-election on four occasions. He has served four years as Deputy Mayor.

Originally from Bombala Cr White has lived in the Queanbeyan area since 1984 when he moved from Belconnen with his wife, Janine and their three children. Cr White was a driving force for improved pedestrian safety measures on Monaro Street following the tragic death of his 15 year old daughter, Trish, in 1992. This was accomplished in his second term on Council.

During his years in Queanbeyan Cr White and his wife, Janine has become involved in the community at a grass root level in local sport and the business community. Cr White has served on a number of Council committees over the past 17 years.

This, his fifth term on Council, will be his swansong as he does not intend to seek re-election in 2012. Cr White is not a member of any political party.
