Traineeship Opportunities – Business Administration & Information Technology

$41,750 per annum (plus 9% super)
Flexible work and study arrangements based on a 35 hour week
Fixed Term Contract – 12 Months

We are seeking applications from people interested in undertaking a twelve month traineeship with Council.  These are unqualified positions and would suit applicants who have an interest in gaining a business administration or information technology experience and qualifications. The type of work you will do complements your study and you will undertake a variety of work that would include reception, answering telephones, providing customer service to internal or external customers, helping with problem solving, data entry and using computer software, assisting other team members with their work, filing and writing general correspondence.

There are three traineeships available:

  • Two Business Administration Traineeships in the Internal Business and the Sustainability and Better Living Divisions; and,
  • One Information Technology Traineeship located in the Information Technology and Business Analysis Unit. 

Council will pay 100% of course fees in accordance with Council's Training and Development Procedure.

The successful applicants will have:

  • The ability to satisfy enrolment in, and completion of, a Cert IV qualification in either Business Administration or Information Technology via correspondence.
  • A good understanding of Microsoft products and an ability to type accurately.
  • An ability to complete tasks in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
  • The capacity to work in a team environment, understand clear directions from team members and maintain a positive workplace attitude.
  • The capacity to learn in a diverse, busy and changing environment.
  •  An understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health and Safety in a workplace.
