Put your bins out

Menu

These pictures outline what is expected of residents/ businesses when it comes to placing your Council issued bin out for collection. These pictures apply to detached houses and townhouses and rural properties. Units on a shared system (share bins) will have their bins collected and emptied by the contractor from the shared waste storage area. Please note only Council issued bins will be collected and serviced by Council. Non council bins will not be serviced.

Please Place your bins out the night before collection. The waste contractors collect bins at different times of the day so may not always be the same collection time, so to ensure that your bin is collected please place out the night before.

Place bins out the night before collection day near the kerb with the wheels towards the house. Leave about 50cm between your bins when you place more than one at the kerb.

To avoid spillage, please ensure that your bin is not over full and that the lid is properly closed.

Avoid placing bins where trees, poles or parked cars could obstruct collection.

Please do not place your bins on the road or gutter as this makes them prone to damage and a hazard to vehicles.  Rural properties are to leave the bins on roadside or where the contractor has indicated as the best position for collection.

Loose rubbish will not be collected by Council's contractors.

Please return your bins to your property as soon as possible following collection to avoid them being stolen or damaged.  Costs can be incurred for replacement bins.
