The Queanbeyan Leagues Club has committed to a 16th consecutive year of sponsorship of the Queanbeyan Gift.
The Queanbeyan Leagues Club has partnered with Queanbeyan City Council to deliver the Queanbeyan Gift since 1999 and has seen the event grow to a two-day carnival, featuring the Family Fun Day and Street Party.
The 2015 Queanbeyan Gift will be held on the weekend of 21 and 22 November and will see some of the country's best athletes and junior stars competing for more than $40,000 in prizemoney.
"The commitment of the Queanbeyan Leagues Club to the city's major sporting event must be commended and celebrated," Queanbeyan Mayor, Cr Tim Overall said.
"Events such as the Queanbeyan Gift cannot be held, and grown, without the valued support of sponsors and the contribution of the Queanbeyan Leagues Club has been integral to the success of the event.
"Planning is well advanced for the 2015 Queanbeyan Gift Carnival and Family Fun Day in Queanbeyan Park with some announcements expected in the coming months. Council is also looking to build on the success of the inaugural Street Party in Crawford St."
Queanbeyan Leagues Club President, John McIntyre said the club remained committed to the Queanbeyan Gift and Queanbeyan sport in general.
"The Queanbeyan Leagues Club is very proud of its links with the Queanbeyan Gift and is very pleased to be a sponsor again in 2015," Mr McIntyre said.
"We have been involved with the Queanbeyan Gift for 16 years and have seen the event expand to a two-day carnival and attract thousands of spectators and quality athletes, including Olympic and Commonwealth Games representatives."
