Council to hold community meetings in May

Queanbeyan residents are invited to two community meetings in May to find out about key Council projects and initiatives and the draft budget for 2016-17.

“Council holds community meetings twice a year and those who are able to attend find them very informative and provides them with an opportunity to hear from Council representatives and also ask relevant questions,” Queanbeyan Mayor, Cr Tim Overall said.

“The upcoming community meetings are very timely and will allow Council to provide updates on our major projects, our draft budget for 2016-17 and also bring the community up to date on the merger proposals being considered for Queanbeyan City Council.

“I encourage the community to attend one, or both, of the community meetings.”

The community meetings will be held on:
•    Wednesday 4 May 2016 at the Fernleigh Park Communication Hall, Swan Dr Googong at 6pm
•    Wednesday 18 May 2016 at the Council Chambers, 253 Crawford St at 6pm

Residents can submit items to be included on the agenda by emailing communications@qcc.nsw.gov.au.
