Sustainability – It’s our Future

 
Sustaining our Towns  is an exciting project to encourage sustainable living across south eastern NSW, including the Queanbeyan City Council area.

The project is offering a FREE home and garden reviews for residents of Queanbeyan. If you book a review, one of the Sustaining our Towns Sustainability Advisors will visit your home to look at your home energy and water use, as well as other factors like sustainable living and gardening. You will then receive a personalised Home Sustainability Report suggesting long and short term strategies for making your home more comfortable, sustainable and affordable to run. Sustaining our Towns is also recruiting businesses in our area into its business program.  This program has a focus on helping businesses to save energy, water and money. To find out more contact the project’s Business Officer Mark Fleming on 0419 865114.

The project is supporting a local sustainability in our area. The "Community Gardening Resource Centre" will transition existing community gardens in Queanbeyan to being entirely locally managed, with the aim of encouraging further community gardens & food forests in Queanbeyan City in the future.

Sustaining our Towns is funded by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust . The project is co-ordinated by SERRROC in partnership with the Southern Rivers Catchment Management Authority, Clean Energy for Eternity and the 13 SERRROC Councils.
