Waste & Recycling

Queanbeyan City Council's waste management system includes a three-bin system that offers the collection of waste, recycling and green waste to Queanbeyan residents. Residents are also offered a twice yearly hard rubbish collection.

Council operates a Waste Minimisation Centre which allows residents to drop off their garden waste and recyclables for free. There is a charge for business dropping off their green waste.

Council provides recycling at Council run events and promotes Waste Wise Events.

Council is involved in other waste minimisation and waste diversion projects such as National Recycling Week, Don’t Be a Tosser, Clean Up Australia Day, Mobile Muster, Household Chemical Cleanout Say and Planet Ark printer cartridge collections. etc.

The Waste Management Site (WAMI) is open 7.15am until 4.15pm 7 days a week
