Does the Library accept donations?
Yes we do, if we don’t use the books we pass them onto Lifeline. We cannot guarantee that a particular book will be included in the collection.
How can I extend the loan period on my loans?
You can renew your loans by coming into the library, phoning the library on 6285 6255, please have your borrower’s number handy, or you can renew online. (Your user ID is your borrower’s number and your password in your date of birth ddmmyy). Books can be renewed up to three times and DVDs up to twice.
Can I borrow books from the ACT Library Service with my Queanbeyan library card or vice versa?
No, we are a separate library service to the ACT. You will need to join the ACT Library Service to access their services.
Can the library get a book for me that it does not currently hold?
Yes, you can request a book from another library by filling out an Inter-Library Loan form in the library, or downloading here and completing, printing and bringing into the library.. Alternatively you can make a suggestion for the library to purchase the item by filling out a form in the library. There is a charge for inter-library loans.
Can I suggest a Book Purchase for the Library?
Yes, you can by completing a Suggestion for Purchase Form either in the Library or downloading here, completing and bringing into the Library.
Can the library send a fax for me?
No, we do not have this facility.
Does the library have computers available for public use?
Yes, we have several computers with internet access plus word processing and spreadsheet programs. We, however, do not have a wi-fi connection. You will need your library card or some ID if you are a visitor.
Can I borrow without my card?
Yes, you can borrow without your card provided you have some other ID with your name and address. You, however need your card to book an internet session.
Does the library have photocopiers?
Yes we have one photocopier. Black and white copies are 25c a sheet for A4 and A3. Colour copies are $1 a sheet for A4 and $1.50 for A3.
