Animal Pound

Queanbeyan City Council operates an Animal Pound which is located on Old Sydney Road, Queanbeyan. The Pound is staffed by Council Rangers and they are responsible for:

• Operation and management of the Animal Pound
• Enforcement of the Companion Animals Act 1998 and Impounding Act 1993
• School education program
• Responding to domestic animal complaints
• Seizing roaming and nuisance animals
• Micro-chipping and registration The Queanbeyan Pound seeks to re-house animals which are seized by Rangers or dropped off at the Pound. Should the animals not be claimed they may be available for sale. Animals for sale are profiled in the below document.
