Winners of the 3rd annual $7,500 Clearwater Sculpture Prize

Congratulations to the winners of the Clearwater Sculpture Prize 2016 and thanks to everyone who voted during the River Festival for the People's Choice and Children's Choice Awards. 

Overall winner of the 2016 Clearwater Sculpture Prize for Panacea Dogs - Sian Watson 

Winner of both the Encouragement Award and People's Choice Award for River Culture - Gregory McLean

Children's Choice Award winner for Carpflute - Tom Buckland

Over 25 artists participated in the annual Clearwater Sculpture Prize, held on the banks of the Queanbeyan River during the Queanbeyan River Festival on 28-30 October. The 2016 Clearwater Sculpture Prize provided $7,500 worth of prizes, with the major award of $5,000 sponsored by Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council. The Encouragement Award and People's Choice Award, worth $1,000 each, and $500 went to the Children's Choice Award winner.

“This year we have such a diversity of entries in our great community arts event. I enjoyed working with all of the artists,” Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council Cultural Development Officer and event coordinator Georgina Perri said, “The interest and support we had from artists in this region and further afield, attests to the desire for this event in our region. Our aim is to grow into the region’s premier sculpture event
