Community Development

Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council is committed to building and sustaining a healthy and strong, inclusive and connected community. Council provides a range of community development programs and initiatives that support and implement key elements of Council's Community Strategic Plan.

The primary role of Council's Community Development Officers is to implement projects within a strength-based community development framework. One of these positions, the Aboriginal Community Liaison and Projects Officer focuses on liaison, consultation and delivering community development projects within the Aboriginal community. The Community Development Officers collaborate and consult with a range of service providers and target groups to provide Council with information on community needs for the Community Strategic Plan.
